Chris watched Rico standing on the deck of the ship with the amulet in his hands.
She knew she couldn't let him get away. The dock where the ship was moored was
connected to the shore by a narrow wooden bridge. It was the only way to the ship,
but Rico was wary.
"Do you really think you can handle this amulet alone?" Chris said loudly, hoping to
distract him.
Rico leaned over the railing and grinned. "Do I have a choice? I'm certainly not going
to share my power with you."
At that moment, Lina, walking around the dock from the other side, found an old boat
moored not far from the ship. Instead of wasting time untying the moorings, she
noticed a long pole and pushed it into the water, causing a loud splash.
Rico turned towards the sound. "What's there?"
This distraction gave Chris time. She dashed across the bridge, hoping to reach
the ship while Rico was distracted. However, he noticed her movement at the last
moment and cut the rope holding the bridge. The wooden structure collapsed, but
Chris managed to jump and grab the rope hanging over the side.
